Abstract: Analysis is made of the symmetry patterns on stone tiles of King Herod’s Opus sectile floors from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem in Israel. The main motif is linked to square tiles with 4-fold symmetry. Computer design of the two main stone tiles A and B is introduced. Different types of symmetry, antisymmetry, color symmetry and symmetry of similarity can be observed.
Keywords: symmetry patterns, standardization, frieze groups, pillars, Göbekli Tepe.
